Cell Phone Screen Repair

Cell phone screens, with few exceptions, are made to last. However many people run into problems because phones, like all small electronic equipment, have a tendency to be dropped and broken, or to fall out of pockets.

Often, a person will simply by a new cell phone - but what if you've just got yourself a brand new iPhone or Blackberry and you can't afford an entirely new phone when all you really need is a screen?

Luckily there are three options available to the majority of cell phone users in America today.

The first and most obvious applies only to phones still under warranty, (another reason why extended warranty is always a good deal on cell phones,) is to go into a local shop and have the phone's screen repaired for free.

If this isn't an option for you, you could consider looking around online for replacement screens. You wont find brand name ones, but if you look on eBay and find a dealer with a lot of positive feedback you can feel relatively confident in buying one there.

The next step is to look at one of the numerous technology blogs providing detailed instructions on replacing your particular phone model's screen. For almost every phone model released in the past five years there will be multiple detailed guides available to you, along with pictures and a list of tools you might need - although in the case of cell phones it is likely you will only be required to find a screw driver to fit.

Your third option is also brought to you by the internet; there are a lot of shops around America who will fix your phone for a very reasonable rate even if it isn't under warranty.

Although this might not inspire confidence, your cell phone is useless with a broken screen and provided you pick a shop that has been in business for at least a year, they will be able to repair it for you. (If they didn't deliver what they promised it is highly unlikely they could stay in business for any length of time.)

Be sure to remove the SD card in your phone if you use one in order to protect your personal information and photos.
